why orange mango rocks my face

mileage yesterday: 3
on the iPod: "barrel springs" -- Big Smith

Started a bit after the noon hour when the temp read 93 degrees and the heat index pushed it to slightly over 100. Nice. It felt great. Got super-hydrated with Gatorade Performance and a Clif Bar before going full force. Ran down fraternity row, past the SAE house, lots of good memories there. Hit Maple and traveled through campus a bit. Saw multiple friends going about their day, including Francesca, Leslie, and Rickey. Love em!

Heading toward Dickson Street, I could feel the energy draining fast. No big deal, I assumed that would happen and was ready to stop in at Mindy's salon for a coke. She always gives me cokes when I run downtown in the heat. Love her too.

But, alas, Mindy was out so I went across the street to Orange Mango, which is currently all the rage. Everybody goes there. It's the place to be. They were really slow when I went in, sweating pretty heavily. I'm sure the worker was disgusted. She immediately offered me water and I told her that what I really needed was a sugar rush for energy. After telling me that they don't give out samples, I begged. I groveled. She caved in and pulled a sample cup from below the register. I think she felt sorry for me.
The shot of yogurt was perfect and I was out the door. The run back to Razorback Stadium was fairly uneventful, but still hot as hell. Felt great again. I went back to Orange Mango on my way home in an effort to say thank you to the girl for getting me out of a jam. Money talks, right? The yogurt was good, but the standout is the toppings bar. It's self-serve and extensive. I added M+M's, Snickers crumbles, and white chocolate chunks. As the price of the yogurt is determined by weight, I've heard horror stories of people getting to the register and having an $8.00 scoop of ice cream. To avoid this, I was prudent with the amount I added. My total? $2.34. Best money I spent all day...
