Miles today: 5.2 (again. mildly disappointed)
On the iPod: um, yeah, about that....
Another morning run through the neighborhood. Saw multiple runners out and about, which was nice. I always enjoy waving to other runners. One guy had two dogs with him, which made me wish Abe Lincoln could run with me. But, alas, he's in his senior years and does better napping on his pillow, waiting patiently for my return. I love that dog. He's a great friend.
Around mile two my iPod earbuds started effing up. Damnit. Not good. They're the kind with the built-in control on the wire, which is great because it's easy to control volume, pausing a good tune for convo, et cetera. I noticed a few weeks ago that the rubber protective coating around the wires had come loose, exposing the inner workings. For about 3 seconds the fear of being shocked occupied my thoughts, then I was over it. I suppose the exposed wire and my sweat mixed together caused a short, because within minutes my iPod was all over the place: it would stop, start, skip, pause, get loud, get soft. I gave it about a mile to figure out the issue and then promptly threw the earbuds in the gutter out of disgust. I'll be heading to Best Buy this afternoon. Obvi.
On another note, I want to send a shout-out to my mom and dad for becoming my first blog followers. I'm not surprised, since they've basically followed my entire 36 years of life. They know how I feel about them, but just so everybody else does as well: they're amazing people and I love 'em very much.
be sure and take your running shoes with you to Florida!!
