on the iPod: "Being Around" -- The Lemonheads
Oh holy wow, was it humid out today. Ran early, pulling out for the trail system about 6:30 in the a.m. Saw lots of rabbits along the way. They were everywhere. I think they were multiplying.
I ate two Gu Chomps and a Clif bar on the drive to the trailhead, washed it down with a chug of Gatorade. By mile four I was ready for another Gu Chomp. My legs felt great but didn't have much energy. At about mile seven I had to wring the sweat out of the tech shirt I was wearing. Really. It was gross. Even after wringing it out it was still completely wet so, after about 30 seconds of debate, I overcame the shame of my belly and ran sans shirt.
Sure enough, about a half mile down the trail, I ran into my good buddy Ben Helf. He was out on his bike and had to endure the eyesore that was me flopping down the trail with no shirt on. I can only imagine he won't be able to get that image out of his occipital lobe for some time to come. He's probably scarred for life. I'm blaming the damn humidity. Go ahead and forward me the therapy bill, Bennie.
My parents, sister, and nephew get back from the beach today. I'm ready to see them all, but I want to see my nephew the most. Don't tell the rest of them. Hahaha.
